who we are



Copacetic Mediation Services (CMS) works with businesses, individuals, and organizations to successfully resolve disputes outside of a long and costly court battle.


Our highly skilled, yet very affordable non-lawyer mediators help parties resolve disputes primarily concerning personal injury, products liability, divorce/child support, as well as a wide range of business matters. While we are not allowed to provide legal advice without a license, the parties are welcome to seek advice from an attorney prior to or during the mediation session.



ABOUT US



Firm Principal and founder Tony Robinson began his insurance career as a liability claims adjuster in 1976. Along the way he has worked for multiple major commercial carriers including Industrial Indemnity, Fireman's Fund, CNA (Asbestos Unit), AIG, ACE USA, and Royal & SunAlliance. The positions held include Litigation Supervisor, Construction Defect Litigation Specialist, Asbestos Claims Unit Analyst, and Complex Claims Unit Director.

Tony obtained his bachelor's degree in Humanities from New College of California and attended the University of San Francisco School of Law from 1985 to 1987. In addition, he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of San Francisco School of Business in 2003.

During his 45-year career as a litigation claims examiner Tony has participated in well in excess in 200 mediations. In addition, he is an active member of the National Association of Certified Mediators.

Our facilities provide a comfortable and spacious environment for mediation. In addition to our main meeting room, we have multiple breakout rooms to ensure privacy for each party.

Difference Between a Mediator and an Attorney



A mediator is an independent and neutral third party who can help negotiate agreements between two disputing parties. Mediators may actively help inform both parties in negotiations but the final decisions are always crafted by the disputing parties. Ultimately, mediators help individuals focus on the key issues holding up any potential resolutions.

While attorneys are not necessary for mediation, we strongly recommend that each party have an attorney experienced in the subject matter involved throughout the mediation process.
